About Us

A few words about us

Located at 1210 meters above sea level, the Gola di Gouta refuge is an oasis in the midst of greenery not far from the sea. Going up the splendid Val Nervia you will find enchanting villages such as Dolceacqua and Isolabona, until reaching near Pigna, where before reaching the village on the left there is the crossroads with the indications “Gouta”; after 12 kilometers of undemanding road we arrive at our refuge, the starting point of numerous excursions for all mountain and open air enthusiasts. The Gola di Gouta refuge has rooms for overnight stays, excellent cuisine with local products, outdoor spaces equipped with games for children and grazing animals, such as donkeys and goats. Once you reach the refuge you will be in the hiking paradise; both on foot and by mountain bike, or by car to Margeria dei Boschi, Monte Toraggio. Along the way you can immerse yourself in nature and in recent history, made of bunkers, remains of the old defensive line on the Italian-French border.

Let’s go back to us and our welcome; the management of the refuge is familiar, Savina who owns it, carefully takes care of the quality of the raw material used to make the dishes. Handmade ravioli with a very thin sheet of pasta and sauces among which the mushroom from our mountains are now famous in the valley. Goat and faglioli, and wild boar are among the most popular second courses, and “dulcis in fundo” the very famous desserts, the rigorously homemade cakes among which the apple and pear and chocolate ones appear.

In summer Gola di Gouta is the ideal place to escape from the heat of the coast and find the coolness of the mountains. Accompanied by a pleasant breeze you can also dine outdoors; in summer there are numerous festivals and events not to be missed in this pleasant and unique place.

    Tutte le nostre paste sono fresche e fatte in casa. Si possono condire a scelta tra ragù, burro e salvia e funghi.
